I’m really excited to be opening the Norfolk Festival of Nature on Saturday March 14th. The theme is nature and wellbeing and the launch will start with myself and Patrick Barkham in conversation (I did my book launch with him and really enjoyed it, despite being ridiculously anxious which he helped to ease) and will be followed by a panel debate, featuring: the lovely Lucy McRobert as well as Anita Sethi and Dr Caoimhie Turohig-Bennett. I’ve copied the event info from the festival site below this image.
Saturday 14th March, 18.15 – 21.15, The Gallery in The Forum, Norwich
Patrick Barkham will be chairing our Festival launch event, this year in conversation with Joe Harkness about his recent book Bird Therapy. Joe’s intimate and searching memoir explores a journey from rock bottom to mental wellbeing with the help of the mindful practice of birdwatching. Patrick and Joe will discuss the book and reflect on the role that nature might play in our physical and mental health if we let it.
There will be a short break for a glass of wine and then we will welcome our other speakers to open the subject up towards further discussion and debate. Please do come along with your own questions for the panel too. Dr Caoimhe Turohig-Bennett is a leading voice in the science of nature and wellbeing. Anita Sethi is a prize-winning journalist and author of the forthcoming nature writing memoir I Belong Here. Lucy McRobert is a wildlife storyteller and author of 365 Days Wild, a guide to making nature part of your life every day.
Tickets sale will launch the week beginning 10th February 2020
